Overview

A Compliance Specialist III is responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and providing support on a variety of complex procedures and acts as point of contact for site managers regarding affordable housing program requirements.  Additionally, the Compliance Specialist III will be expected to travel expensively to perform site audits, file repairs or initial certifications.  The Compliance Specialist III will also assist with training of new Compliance Specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with the site managers over the telephone and/or by email to answer questions from the site staff regarding affordable housing program requirements. Review the resident files within the time frames outlined in a contract or request help should some circumstance prevent a timely review.
  • Communicate in written form regarding the deficiencies found in the resident files and operate the WinDOCS system to ensure the timely review of files submitted. Review resident files for properties with multiple subsidy types.
  • Work with portfolios where management requires review of additional management related documents.
  • Provide audit services for our clients including first year file reviews, state audit preparation assistance, and lender audits and inspections.
  • Train new Compliance Specialists.
  • Interact with Corporate personnel at the management companies.
  • Clarify policies and procedures with the various housing agencies.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in compliance or affordable property management is required.
  • Complete annual LIHTC asset management inspections for investment banks and syndicators.
  • Inspections include file reviews and physical inspections.
  • Ability to travel 80% of the time.
  • Knowledge of LIHTC guidelines.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing, ADA and Section 504 are a plus.

Compensation may vary depending on your location, qualifications including job-related education, training, experience, licensure, and certification, that could result at a level outside of these ranges. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus, and sales incentives depending on the terms of the applicable plan and role as well as individual performance.

Pay Range

USD $61,500.00 - USD $104,700.00 /Yr.
