The Sr. Director of Revenue Enablement Accounting will have full responsibility for all Go to Market contracts and offerings. S/He ensures compliance with all revenue accounting, sales, governance, and regulatory standards through the implementation and management of controls and procedures, and, equally important, works as an influential business partner to improve RealPage’s process design, controls, and financial systems.
In this new role, the leader will need to establish strong and influential partnerships across many key cross functional teams such as sales operations, legal, product and marketing to deliver impact and required outcomes.
You lead the strategy, development, and execution of enablement accounting to meet the needs of our business partners and regulatory standards. To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong grounding in ASC 606 technical accounting, enablement, scalability, project management, people management, relationship building, and specific subject matter skills. You have excellent communication skills and do not get lost in the technical while bridging and representing the complexity of ASC 606/Revenue Recognition while working with business leaders in sales, product management, engineering.
The Sr. Director of Revenue Enablement Accounting will be a key contributor to RealPage’s Contract to Revenue Recognition process, lifecycle, and tools. We seek a leader with knowledge of systems requirements, capabilities, assessment criteria, and the ability to translate that knowledge into decision-making skills, communication protocols and project planning, and management. S/he has the capacity to build and lead the growth toward maturity and to scale these capabilities.
Responsible for setting strategic priorities, long-term-vision, scope, resourcing, direction, and approach, and will guide your teams through delivery of forward-thinking and innovative approaches to anticipate and address problems that present critical long-term risks or opportunities to RealPage Revenue.
Build and implement scalable and relevant programs, playbooks, and methodologies to deliver knowledge, behavioral change, and impact.
Influence and lead the development of high quality and sustainable internal controls through the application of a robust risk framework and ongoing systems application.
Lead and support his/her team to drive growth and success of the RealPage business through the provision of objectives, targets, and support.
Play an important role in transformation efforts, as the team evolves the regional operating, compliance and business support model via systems, processes, and organizational structures. Notably, the RealPage business will invest heavily in the next several years to enhance many elements of its Order-to-Cash (O2C) process—its most critical set of business processes—and executing well against such goals will be critical.
Drive and implement a streamlined enterprise accounting opportunity to cash process grounded in ASC 606 and key internal controls to assure accurate and complete revenue recognition.
CPA and bachelor’s degree with major in accounting or equivalent are required
Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience, including 5+ years of experience in an operational accounting leadership role
Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is strongly preferred but not required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Technical expertise and proven experience in implementing ASC 606 revenue recognition accounting within SaaS and Fintech environments
Experience in interpreting revenue contracts and documenting relevant accounting impacts
Demonstrated expertise in developing and scaling a revenue enablement accounting function in a high growth environment streamlining operational processes, ensuring compliance with legal, financial, and operational guidelines
Experience defining guidelines, policies, roles and responsibilities, and building an operating model for the revenue enablement team
Experience designing, implementing and supporting complex business processes in an Oracle ERP or comparable environment (Fusion G/L, Revenue Management Cloud Services) in support of RealPage’s Contract to Revenue Recognition process
Solid experience with SOX requirements including the design, implementation and documentation of process/procedures and internal controls
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external parties to maximize performance
Intermediate to advanced MS Excel, including V-lookups, functions, and pivot tables required
Solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction
