Overview

We’re seeking a Sr. Manager of Submeter Maintenance with a hunter mindset, strong client focus, and a proven ability to drive profitability in high-volume operations and operational selling. This leader will identify revenue opportunities, influence capital decisions, and optimize submetering systems to boost client ROI and NOI - while leading, developing, and scaling a high-performing team.

 

Applicants must have prior experience as a Service Account Engineer or Technical Project Manager at Stratis, Whitesky, or Submeter. Hardware technology experience required.

 

Success requires strategic thinking, C-suite influence, and the ability to build a results-driven, collaborative team culture.

Responsibilities

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY: The Sr. Manager of Submeter Maintenance leads a national team of Service Account Engineers, driving operational efficiency, client satisfaction, and recurring revenue growth - especially through the Submeter Electronic Protection Plan. This role is accountable for strategic account execution, capital investment influence, and delivering double-digit YoY growth while maintaining compliance and high-performance team culture.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

· Own and deliver financial performance for the submeter maintenance business, historically generating $ 5 to $6M annually.

· Drive aggressive growth of recurring revenue through the Submeter Electronic Protection Plan, with a strong commitment to achieving and sustaining double-digit YOY increases.

· Lead, coach, and develop a team of high-performing service account engineers to deliver proactive meter repair, upgrade, and maintenance strategies.

· Foster a high-performance culture rooted in ownership, collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and customer-centricity.

· Set clear objectives and KPIs, providing regular coaching and performance feedback to drive continuous improvement.

· Collaborate with RUM Strategic Account Managers to enhance client recovery strategies and support ~$50M in recurring revenue through optimized submetering infrastructure.

· Analyze and optimize client utility recovery, providing actionable insights to improve accuracy, efficiency, and profitability.

· Conduct site visits and data analysis to assess system health, identify service needs, and recommend capital investments.

· Lead client-facing meetings to align on goals, present business cases for investment, and develop long-term capital plans.

· Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal standards related to submetering and utility billing.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

· Must have held a Service Account Engineer or Technical Project Manager role at Stratis, Whitesky, or Submeter.

· 6+ years of experience in project, service or operations management, preferably in Submetering, IoT, or Smart Technology sectors.

· 3+ years of experience leading high-performing teams with a focus on talent development and operational excellence.

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

· Strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset.

· Willingness to travel as needed to support client relationships and team development.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

· Proven ability to influence C-suite stakeholders and drive capital investment decisions.

· Deep understanding of submetering systems, utility expense recovery, and resident billing.

· Strong technical acumen with working knowledge of cloud platforms, APIs, and IoT protocols.

· High emotional intelligence and exceptional

Compensation may vary depending on your location, qualifications including job-related education, training, experience, licensure, and certification, that could result at a level outside of these ranges. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus, and sales incentives depending on the terms of the applicable plan and role as well as individual performance.

Pay Range

USD $102,700.00 - USD $138,800.00 /Yr.
