ABOUT THE TEAM

We’re looking for an experienced UX Designer to join our innovative Platform & Design Systems team as a key leader in maintaining and evolving our core design system. This team is responsible for identifying, creating, and documenting foundational design patterns that ensure consistency across RealPage products—while casting a clear vision for their adoption and long-term impact.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Design System Lead on the Platform & Design Systems Team, you’ll shape the vision and evolution of our core design system—driving adoption, innovation, and consistency across products. You’ll collaborate closely with designers and developers to ensure components, patterns, and tokens are intuitive, delightful, and easy to implement.

You’re passionate about atomic design, mobile-first thinking, and data visualization best practices. You thrive on helping teams work smarter and faster by building a shared design language that empowers collaboration and elevates user experiences.

Responsibilities

What you will be doing:

  • Drive the strategic evolution of the design system, ensuring it scales effectively across products and platforms while incorporating emerging technologies, including AI-assisted design tools.
  • Define, document, and maintain core design principles and reusable patterns that promote consistency, accessibility, and efficiency across the user experience.
  • Own and manage the design system libraries, including components, patterns, and design tokens, ensuring they are up-to-date, well-documented, and aligned with brand and product needs.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams—including UX designers, engineers, product managers, and brand stakeholders—to ensure seamless integration and adoption of the design system.
  • Establish and lead governance processes for design system contributions, updates, and usage to maintain quality and consistency.
  • Conduct audits and usability reviews to identify gaps, ensure platform-specific needs are addressed, and continuously improve the system.
  • Champion design system adoption and best practices across the organization through documentation, workshops, and hands-on support.
  • Mentor and support designers and developers in leveraging the system effectively, fostering a culture of design excellence and collaboration.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and tools, evaluating and integrating new technologies, plugins, and workflows that enhance design system scalability and team productivity.
  • Measure the impact of the design system, using qualitative and quantitative feedback to inform improvements and demonstrate value to stakeholders.

  • Strong portfolio of design systems work, including examples of governance models, adoption strategies, and measurable impact.
  • Deep understanding of UX principles, interaction design, accessibility standards (WCAG), and user-centered design methodologies.
  • Proficiency in cross-functional collaboration, with the ability to align designers, developers, and stakeholders around a shared design language.
